Market Rebranding

Background

The Columbus Crew, a founding team of Major League Soccer, has a rich history of pioneering achievements, including the construction of the first soccer-specific stadium in the US. As the excitement around soccer grew in the country, the team sought to capitalize on this momentum by rebranding to reflect the evolving landscape of the sport.

Results

The rebranding of the MLS Columbus Crew was a comprehensive effort that successfully captured the growing excitement for soccer in the US. By celebrating the "Designated Player" era, leveraging innovative marketing strategies, and fostering youth engagement, the campaign revitalized the legacy franchise. The new brand identity, symbolized by the tagline "One Nation. On the Sod," and the dramatic marketing stunts, reinforced the Crew’s position as a pioneering and dynamic team in MLS, ultimately resulting in sold out games and two MLS Cup Championships.
